    Aiden's biggest Boo-boo yet

The evening of Eryn's birthday, Daddy came home with a DQ ice cream surprise for Eryn. He decided he would take the kids outside to eat the ice cream, since it was so mild outside.
While distracted doing something else, Aiden, ice cream in hand, fell , in the garden by the big boulders. Because he had ICE CREAM in his hand, he didn't try at all to break his own fall...so the boulder broke it for him. He landed face first into a boulder.
He got rock rash on his cheek, plus a nice bone bruise there too, which is giving him the black eye.
It's also swollen, aside from being bloodied and bruised.
Naturally, I blame Gary, since he was 4 feet away from him, but distracted.
personally, I wouldn't let them walk around with ice cream anyways... I'd make them sit & eat,....but Daddy was in charge...

It's now 2 days since his fall. His face is still a bit swollen, the bruise is darkening, but otherwise, aside from being tender, it doesn't seem to slow him down much.
    As a matter of fact..
I took them to the 'play paradise' again today.
Eryn was asking me , first thing this morning, if she could go see the 'princess room' which is at this play place.
I knew it would be near empty there, and easy place to manage the kids, so I agreed.
Aiden did soooo much running around there, his other cheek was as flushed as his ravaged cheek.
Both kids were sweaty when we left after nearly an hour & 1/2 of play.

Eryn's birthday party is tomorrow. She's very excited about her cake. It's a special order cake from a local bakery, with purple frosting & pink ponies.
I'll be posting pictures of it, naturally.

Below are posted some photo's of yesterday's outdoor play in the back yard.
They had a great time playing outside , no coats, for near 2 hours.
Eryn insisted on wearing her 'dress-up' dress outside.
She's able to blow bubbles now all on her own. Sirius wouldn't leave her side so long as she held the bubble bottle.
She's able to ride her trike all on her own. Aiden loves kicking the basketball around the court..can't wait til he's big enough for a bike.
    It's awesome having a backyard.

    Happy Birthday Eryn !

My lil' baby girl Eryn is now a whopping THREE years old!
Can't believe it's been three years since witnessing the most miraculous thing my body has ever done!

I was talking to Eryn about her birthday, telling her that three years ago, she was so small she was still inside me. I showed her pictures of me pregnant and then her as a newborn and as a 7month old baby.
She was really interested to hear about her birthday, she LOVED looking at the pics of herself as a baby.

This morning , Eryn woke up, I asked her if she knew what today was, she squealed very excitedly; 'it's my birthday!!!'
"Do you have surprise for me mommy?"
I gave her a new fancy purple crown, complete with feathers and jewels.
She didn't wear it long, and began putting it on all her animals, then, of course, on the dog. I got a photo of that one.

I was planning a big busy day for the kids.
But, with a slow start, we didn't make it back to the 'family place' for play time, I had to skip that part, instead we heading to 'ol McDonald's' as Eryn calls it, and the kids shared a happy meal and played in the tunnel/tube thing for quite a long while.
When it was time, I packed them in again, and headed to our first 'art class'.
    It was AWESOME!
There were only 2 other children there, aside from my kids. Pascale (the facilitator) was awesome, she had yummy snacks and drinks &  three great art activities for the kids. We began with water color painting, then moved on and did some gluing collages, then finally some neat-o play dough  (wasn't real play dough it's a different kind, she said it was a  Japanese style play dough that dries hard in 24 hours.) It was really neat stuff, and unlike the usual play dough..it doesn't stick to anything!
She had a ton of lil things for the kids to put into the dough too.
Eryn was the oldest one there & Aiden was the youngest  (it's supposed to be for kids from 2-5yrs) but Pascale repeatedly stated how amazed she was at his attention span and ability to sit and do the tasks. she said he was 'exceptional'  :)  (way to make a mommy proud)
She also had 3 big boxes of toys for the kids to play with if they weren't into 'art'
Pascale said she was also there to help with my kids since I had two, she would assist when needed. The best part was, I didn't even need to say when I needed her help. She just saw and stepped right in!
Aahhhhh, was delightful...and  informational.  During the whole class, she gave lots of suggestions of activities to do in the house and how each activity benefits the child.
It was a real pleasure. She even helped me bring the kids and all our art to the van and helped me load them up!  What a gem!
I can't wait for the other classes! Mother goose
    creative movement (dance)
    story & playtime
    and Art again

Eryn LOVED the class, she sat at the table working on the various projects longer than the other kids, always asking for more, and saying thank you  (that's my girl) She talked about the class the entire ride home and even wanted to take the lil play dough sculpture we made, to naps with her. We didn't arrive home until about 2pm, by that time it was effortless to get Eryn to have a nap. Next time I'll take pictures!
    sigh
    what a great day.
    &
this evening, I'll be going to Shauna's to pick up the bouncy spring horsey!
I can already see the kids fighting over turns on THAT!!!
But the good part is, riding the bouncy horsey will really wear them out!

I posted the photos I took of the kids' art today.
To me it's easy to see which one belongs to which child....
Tomorrow I'll have more pictures I'm sure!
Here's the ones from this morning & afternoon:

    March 27

    attracting the way

    So
I've made a request of the universe.
Gary & I are going to be super rich !  (compared to what we are now), perhaps the $ will come thru the lotto, perhaps another way, how it comes matters not, for that is 'the domain of the universe',
but I am thinking most likely it will be the lotto.

yeah, right, who doesn't want to win it?
    I know, I know
    BUT
I am stating here, for the record, for all to see, that we WILL win a big lotto jackpot (25 mill is good for me).
And I want to state it 'on the record' because otherwise most folks won't believe me when I tell them I knew we'd win it.

tomorrow's draw is for a tidy $25 million, and the draw is on Eryn's 3rd birthday, it would be a damn fine way to end a birthday celebration!
I've been busy lately paving the way, for what to do with ALL that money.
Our passports are on order, I got a tip on a good realtor, I know who we will order our cars from and exactly the types of cars we will be getting.
Next I'll need to find the perfect travel agent and the best investment group.
And sometime in the near future, once the 'dust has settled', we'll plan a HUMONGOUS fancy party for all our family and friends...
actually, scratch that, we'll have 2 huge parties. One for family and then one for friends.

    In other news:
    YEP
    tomorrow is the BIG ONE
Our little baby Eryn will be THREE years old!!!!!!
I've made it thru her terrible two's, and she's on to THREE already.
I've been reading up on developmental milestones for 3yr olds.
Eryn is far ahead in language development, she typically uses sentences with at LEAST 7 words, often more. She's right on track for fine motor skills, she can cut with scissors, draw various shapes on her own, she's great at folding paper and towels. Her gross motor skills are right on track. She's been playing hopscotch lately, and the jumping on one foot thing, then switching to the other, she's been walking up stairs like a grown up for months and months now.  She can undress herself completely, and she can dress herself, except for buttons, snaps and zippers.  A couple weeks ago, while playing with me, she asked if SHE could 'play' mommy and I 'play' Eryn. So she's right into the role playing too. Sharing is getting better, and using words to talk instead of screaming or hitting when she's mad  (like when Aiden tries to take her toys).
The information I read, said by the end of 3rd year, she'll have mastered buttons, snaps and zippers too.
The potty training is coming well. She only wears diapers when sleeping now. Lately all of our outings are in underwear  (touch wood, no accidents in the car seat yet) but I'm always bringing the back-up outfit and what not incase there IS an accident.
Eryn really is a BIG girl now.
    I LOVE age 3
    so far

We're having Eryn's birthday celebration on Saturday, but tomorrow she'll get a few special treats too.
My girlfriend Shauna, is giving Eryn her spring loaded riding horse  (you know the type, the old fashioned kind the kids can ride and bounce on) I'll go pick that up from her tomorrow evening...don't know yet where we'll put it, but I KNOW it'll be a BIG hit.
Eryn received a birthday card in the mail today, from her great Grandma  (she calls her: gate gamma) she was SOOO happy and excited to open the envelope and take out the card, and that there was a FAIRY on the card....ooooo.....
We'll call 'gate gamma' on the phone tonight to thank her  (can't wait to see her in May again)

In less than a week, my girlfriend from Ontario will be here.
Though I didn't get my 3 nights away over spring break, we're gonna book a hotel and Maddie, Adrienne & I will have a pajama party overnight.  FINALLY , my first night away from the kids  (and a TRUE sleep in morning..which we'll need from the late night drinking that will be going on....naturally the hotel will have a pool/sauna etc...  perhaps I'll book us a hotel with a SPA....oooooo... ideas....

    then, in MAY
MY favourite musician (one of my TOP fav's) will be coming all the way from ICELAND, to give me a birthday concert in my backyard!!!!
(yes, it's  ALL special for ME)
Bjork will be in Vancouver in May. I'll have to look into whether she's performed here before or not..
    but what a divine coincidence.....
just a couple days before my birthday, she comes all the way from Iceland and will be playing at  Beer Lake Park..oops, er..Deer Lake Park..which is practically in my backyard...  what an awesome treat!
My girlfriend Adrienne,  (second biggest Bjork fan), told me about her arrival, so naturally, we'll be going there together!!!!
    WOOHOO

that's all the time I have for now.
Seems I'm only making blog entries every week or so now...
just been too busy, when I finally have time....end up finding other things to do.

This past weekend was Eryn's cousin, Justin's 5th birthday. She LOVES birthday parties. I'll post some pics of that below.
    Also,
Met up with Shauna & Joel-o , this week, for some play at the 'family place'. The kids had a great time playing there. Aiden is nearly old enough now, that I don't have to shadow him everywhere. Got some great pics of the kids there , also posted below.
    that's about it..

    next post will include:
    birthday pictures!!!!!

    March 19

    goin' with the flow

    Spring break is here.
The trees are in blossom, birds are singing, grass is growing, it's still light out at 6:30pm!!!!
    I love spring!
I wish my allergies loved spring. Every mid-march I seem to enjoy a half a month of nasal drip  & itchy eyes.
Only 2 more weeks and I'll be 'in the clear'

I was supposed to have my BIG weekend AWAY this past weekend.
My girlfriend, Nicole, that I was going to go visit, ended up sick, so she's taking the week to recover, and I had to come up with new plans.
I haven't had my first night away from the kids YET
but it will be coming soon!
My friend Maddie, from Ontario, is coming out to BC over Easter, so we'll get a hotel room for a night  (Adrienne is joining us too). We'll have a pajama party and stay up late, drinking most likely, but we'll be KID FREE.
So much to look forward to !!!!

So, instead of being on the island for 3 days, catching up with Nicole, I'm taking time to catch up with some friends here I haven't seen in a while.
I got together with Edie for the afternoon.  She arranged some childminding for her oldest, and she & I and her lil' baby boy headed into Richmond for some shopping.
If you know Richmond, then you'd understand why I let her drive. It was total craziness on the roads there!
We headed into Daiso, the Japanese $2 store. Got some party favours and a couple little gifts for Eryn's b-day.

Saturday night, I met up with April, Adrienne, Rebeka, and Onida at Burgoo (great restaurant).  We stayed a couple hours visiting and catching up.
When I arrived home, Gary had invited his sis over, so I got to visit with her too.

Sunday arrived, I got to sleep in (sorta). I took the dog out for a long walk on the trails, did some shopping by myself, did lots of reading.
We took the kids to the 'play paradise' I'd heard so much about. It does get bloody expensive with 2 kids at about $8 per hour/ kid of playtime...ouchie!
    we only stayed an hour.
It's not the sheer madness of a 'crash crawlies' place, geared much more toward little toddlers. Got a few cute pics of the kids. Eryn loved the little ride-em train. She was able to work the controls herself, driving herself round and round the track, with Aiden chasing her  (or sometimes running from her)...very cute!

Monday is here  (I'm supposed to still be 'on vacation') so Gary has taken the kids out somewhere this morning. He said he was going to the park, even had the kids fully dressed in rain gear....we'll see where he ended up once they return (yep, it's piss pouring rain...again).
Today I'll be going to the gym (again), maybe hang in the library a bit for more reading time. See what other 'trouble' I can get into!

Tomorrow, it's supposed to be mild and dry again, if so, Gary will take the kids to daycare in the mornin (while I'm sleeping in), and we'll head up to lynn valley for a nice long hike in the mountains, like we used to do, followed by a nice brunch somewhere.
After that, we'll pick up the kids, and that'll pretty much be my 'vacation'
It's not what I expected it to be, but I was easily able to 'go with the flow' and make up new plans.

I got a wedding invitation in the mail. My cousin (I only have 4 cousins) Don, is getting married (finally) in May. Though he and Cory live in Calgary, their wedding will be in Kelowna! Where my grandma is.  I was very excited about this, because that will mean that ALL of my mom's family will probably converge in Kelowna that weekend! The last time they all got together was when I got married (the 1st time) back in 1992! And because it was MY wedding, I was so busy the days before the wedding I didn't get time to just sit & visit with them. PLUS, now I'll get to show off my kids (& hubby). I'm the only one out of all the cousins that has kids...PLUS it will be Aiden's birthday  right after their wedding (& my grandma's birthday the day before the wedding) so there will be LOTS to celebrate. We've got one road trip under our belts with the kids, so we know what NOT to do. Only 6 more weeks til the wedding!!!!
It's so much more fun to go to other peoples' weddings....
Like I said, so much to look forward to!

I mentioned in a previous blog that this month is a transition month for me.
Last Friday I attended my very last meeting of my post-partum support group.
I've been going there for a year now. Most moms don't stay a year (some do & stay longer even) but before I found this support, my life had been collapsing around me  (birth of 2 babes back to back, unemployed depressed husband, moving, death of my mother and the settling of her 'estate', and no family here) so I needed that full year to help me process all that had gone on. Most mom's join the group within the first couple months of their baby's life..I didn't join until my second child was over 9months old. I had some 'catching up' to do.
It was an awesome support. I'd so encourage any mom that is having difficulty, to call the pacific post partum society and get involved!
It was sad to say goodbye, but I realized that what I will miss, is not so much the support anymore, but the people and my connection with them. And realizing THAT, helped me understand it was time to leave (they always have wait lists for their groups).

My 'replacement' for that support is a new program I got signed up for. It's free to residents (always a bonus). They have a variety of things for parents and lil' kids. I'll be joining a mother-goose program,  a art/craft class, story time/playgroup, creative movement/dance class as well as attending lecture series (they provide free childminding while you're in a lecture) This week the lecture topic is daycare/preschools in Burnaby. What I look forward to most, is the 'controlled environment', where I can bring BOTH my kids, without feeling like I'm on the 'gong show'.   I told the 'intake' worker that my biggest obstacle in going anywhere with 2 toddlers, is the fact that it's exhausting and challenging to manage them BOTH unless the environment is a controlled one  (meaning it's safe, they can't run away or get into trouble/hurt) The facilitators of these groups, will step in and help parents with multiple kids when needed.  (YAY)
Between all those activities and the half days at daycare twice a week...I'll be laughing...everyday!!!!!!!!

    I feel great!
What a difference a year makes!
I am filled with a sense of well-being.
I am now an open doorway thru which pours in more abundance & joy than I have ever experienced, or dreamt of before!
    YEEhaw!!

Here's some pictures of the kids this weekend.
One rainy afternoon, gary took Aiden out to play in the rain, Eryn & I stayed inside and had a pony tea party (I'm loving the age she's at now)
there's some pics of that, the 'play paradise' , afternoon stroller adventure, more pony parties and other things:

    March 11

    pineapples, potty, & precedence

We've nearly been washed away here in BC.
Torrential amounts of rain!  They call it the 'pineapple express' from hawaii
over 10cm in a a few hours, may as well be bloody raining pineapples, there's soooo much rain !
Glad I don't live down by cambie & broadway anymore. They are building the big 'canada line' there now, and with the rain and all, it's turned into a huge stinky, muddy mess hole. Apparently, a sewerline broke where they were excavating and filled a huge hole with nasty sewer water plus all the mud & water from the rain. The road is closed (and its a MAJOR roadway), plus I imagine it stinks to high hell there now...yummy.
Actually, the whole area is nearly unrecognisable to me. When I lived there as a single woman, it hadn't been developed yet, not to the extent it is now. I know everything changes, I'm glad I got a chance to live there before all the mayhem.

Where we are now is on a mountain side, so YEAH we got extra rain, but it all washes away quickly, drains away pretty quick.

I've been reading lots lately. The only time I have to read is before bed, or in bed, but that's more than I had a few months ago.
I finished 3 of David Hawkins book's, got 2 Eckhart Tolle books  (including "The Power of Now')
I am following 'the path' in my own way.
After fully understanding the law of attraction, it was easy to see how it had gotten me where I was  (including into depression). For years I've been 'looking for the path' but wasn't entirely sure what it was I was looking for. Now I do.
The journey is inward. There is NO going backward!!
My life from here on is Unprecedented!
The notion of that fills me with excitement, I am free.
I understand, now,  why I love silence so much.
    I am grateful!

Next weekend, will be an unprecedented weekend!  (like using that word)
I haven't spent a night away from my kids since before they were born.
    THAT
    is about to change!
My girlfriend, Nicole, has invited me to visit during spring break!
I've mentioned before in a previous blog, what kind of antics we used to get up to, when I used to visit her for spring break.
I know it won't be anything along those lines now....

I am looking forward to :

getting away from the 'status quo'  (going to the island)
    being on my own (freedom)
staying up late & sleeping in (rest)
    quality time with Nicole  (friendship)
having ZERO expectations of what my time with her will look like.
returning after 3 days to see my kidlets (and hubby too)

    In 'kid' news:
Potty training is coming along famously!
Eryn even had a nap today sans diaper!
She is getting MUCH better at sharing with Aiden, once I remind her to use her words.
The more I praise her for 'being a BIG girl' the more she wants to do those things that big girls do  (including sharing)
this 'big girl' praise has yet to work on the whining though.
Eryn is actually drawing and painting THINGS now, not just blobs  (abstract art) on the paper.
She can draw/paint faces, suns, circles, triangles  (i'm probably leaving out a few) all on her own.
The first painting she did of a nice yellow sun, will be saved for the 'scrapbook' of course.

After a trip to the Doc's , turns out Aiden probably didn't break his nose. If his 'septum' is deviated..they don't fix that.  But he couldn't tell because he had too many boogers up his nose for Doc to see well enough to tell.
No sick kids this weekend, everyone is healthy again!
One thing I have to do now, is be very watchful of what Eryn does, because whatever she does, Aiden tries. So if she tries to climb on the back of the couch  (even if she can safely) so will he  (but not so safely) Whatever she jumps off of, he will too.
Like I said, EVERYTHING she does, he HAS to do too....

I can't believe I'm raising TWO toddlers under three.
Last year I had TWO kids under TWO
now it's TWO kids under three.
I was talking to a 'professional' last week, and she was saying that the hardest time raising kids is from birth to 3, after age three things get easier with kids (that's assuming they're potty trained and all by then).
To hear that from her  (esp knowing the background she has) was extremely comforting. One more year and I'm 'out the other side'.  Far more of that difficult time is behind me, than awaiting me.  I've MADE IT!!!
I'm nearly done with all the 'tough stuff', I've survived!!!!
    I'm still ALIVE !!!!
Eryn's blossoming maturity is giving me glimpses of what the future might be like. Plus, the more I 'work on me'  the better off she'll be too, and the easier to raise. I've heard that; all the mistakes parents make with their kids...they 'pay for' when they become teenagers. I don't wanna 'pay' for anything later...the way my mom 'paid' for things....hehehehe

The rest of this whole month is a transition period for me.
I'm leaving my post-partum support group  (it's been a year)
My 'adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse'  group is ending soon as well.
I'm going outta town. I'm changing councilors. I'm starting a new program  (more about that later).
Busy goin' to the gym, and living everyday with mindfulness.
I can't wait to see what spring 'looks like'
Like I said, from here on out, my life is unprecedented!!

    March 05

Birthdays, boogers, & the law of attraction

    WOW
these kids do grow up fast.

I remember when they were lil' babies and all these people out in the community,
    or what not, would oogle over the baby(s) and say things like;
oh, enjoy every minute of babyhood, it goes by so quickly.
or  they're only babies once, it goes so fast.
I remember, at the time , thinking;   yeah, it might go fast, but not fast enough.
That's when I was sleep deprived,  over whelmed, under supported, depressed and generally angry.
My'lil' girl will turn 3 this month.
I remember meeting a three yr old when Eryn was a new born. I hadn't seen this particular three yr old, since she was a baby herself.
I've often reflected on that day, when James and his daughter Heather came by.  She had just turned three. She was so articulate and non-stop talk, but so cute too, in her flowery summer dress. Eryn was just a 3 months old, maybe.
I remember thinking; I couldn't imagine my lil baby finally being 3, and her own lil person, instead of the 'blob' of a 3 month old (as all 3 month olds' are). Now, she IS turning 3.
It has gone by, in retrospect, pretty quick..probably because the combination of being overwhelmed,  & sleep deprived helped erase nearly all memory of 'babyhood'.
I'm glad I took  (and still take) a ton of photos and video, it helps 'jog' the memory of those times.
Eryn knows her birthday is arriving.
She'll say to me;  Mommy I'm going to be 3 soon.
I'll try to involve her in the planning of her party.
I've arrived at an obstacle, though.
I had a GREAT place in mind, for the location of her party, it was inexpensive, close by, and simply perfect. I HUGE living room (4 couches) a TON of toys, even inside climbing equipment, crafts, books, you name it. There's even a small outdoor play area, fenced in and secure.
There's a full kitchen there too, but has a dutch door to get in, so it's a 'kid free' zone. It was perfect.
    BUT
I went there this week to book it, and apparently she's not allowed to rent the place for parties anymore, because some new builder owner got wind that she was doing this without the proper liability insurance. Thing is though, she's already been doing this for 10 years. So she's had to phone a ton of people to cancel the room, and return money. It was a disappointment, for sure.
    I'm at a loss now
Especially as we hadn't budgeted the $175 it cost just to reserve a spot for a kids party.
Her 3rd B-day will be low key.
I asked her who she wanted at her party with cake and all.
She said;   mommy and daddy & Aiden & Sirius.
me: anyone else? Do you want some friends over to share your cake?
Eryn: um, ok, how bout...mommy? and Aiden?
and daddy and Sirius?...and  christian too?  (christian is her cousin)
me:  what kind of cake would you like Eryn?
    Eryn:  how bout..a PINK one?
    me: ooo, pink cake..mmm...
    Eryn: how bout purple cake?
me: a purple cake with pink ponies?
    Eryn;  yeah....for ME?????

so, looks like it will be a family affair, very small.
least then we can have it at our house, and then I can splurge a bit on the cake.
PLUS, we'll take her to the farm come April, since the pony rides start up again then.

    BUT
for Aiden's birthday, since my secret 'weapon' is no longer available, we'll have to save up.
I was looking at a gymnastics club for his birthday party in May.

Great news in the world of potty training!!!
Eryn is now telling us when she needs to use the potty. She is still reluctant to poo in the potty, but she's happy to pee-pee in the potty.
Either way, it's progress, so I'm pleased.
she also has a FIT now, if we put a diaper on her, like for bedtime, or an outing somewhere. That's a real switch too, because she used to have a fit if we put underwear on her.

Aiden's been sick again this weekend.
First of all, last week, while spinning around  (on his own) he ran into the table with his nose.
It was harsh bleeding (from the inside) and an ugly scrape/bruise etc...
Now, he's got this nasty cold which produces green/yellow slime to come out of his nose, but there is also yellow slime coming out of his eye, but mainly the eye on the same side of his face where he hurt his nose. I wonder if there's a connection....mommy instinct is telling me yes.
This morning he woke up with THAT eye sealed shut with goop.
Today, both eyes are red and puffy, but definitely more so the one eye than the other.
I'll be taking him to Doc, to ensure there's no 'deviated septum' or other such business, from his crash last week.
I spent most of the weekend inside with the sick kids and when they weren't in the house, I was cleaning the house.
Feeling a bit cabin fevery today.

I did go out Friday night.
I met 4 other girlfriends at Burgoo. Never eaten there before, it was awesome.  What better to eat while sitting around 'gabbing' than cheese fondue!!!!  When I realized it was after 10pm already, I figured I'd better start heading home. It was great seeing the girlz, though a few were missing, and April had to leave shortly after arriving...:(
so, we'll probably do it again in 2 more weeks. God, I love those women!
Aishah & Rebeka kept me in stitches, and LOVE Adrienne's dry sarcasm, too bad April had to leave so early, and Onida was sick and Julie & Kate  couldn't get a sitter.
NEXT TIME  girls!!!!  Next time I'll take a pic or 2 too.

    In other news:
    Spring break is coming up!
    I'm excited
    because
    I'll have plans.
I'll be doing my first overnight away from the kids.
My girlfriend Nicole, on the Island, wants me to visit.
    now,
before I was married and had kids, I used to visit her every spring break.
Her daughter would be away at her dads' and Nicole and I would 'play'.
Boy, we did some crazy stuff back then.
OMG , when I think about it...  sheesh
(we once 'stole' borrowed a few snowmobiles at midnight and took them to the top of the mountain,  never thought about helmets or anything of that nature, esp being drunk and all)
OF COURSE, we wont be doing those kind of stunts now....
But it will be good to be away from home for 3 days. And 2 nights away from my kids....will be interesting....
    AND
during spring break, my cyber friend/blogger buddy,  Maddie, is coming west too.
If all goes as planned, I'll actually get to meet her in person!!!!!!
And show her around town for a day or so, before she heads to the Island to visit family.

That's all the time I've for today. Duty Calls:
Sick, snotty kids, dirty diapers, messy kitchen, dirty dishes, one more load of laundry, shedding dog and a yard full of dog poop call me away.....

Here's a pic of a cake I'm using to inspire me for Eryn's b-day cake.
plus a few extras from the weekend.

OH, and just a lil warning to all bloggers out there...
I know a mom who liked to blog, and vent.
She'd complain about her daycare and a few people who work there.
Somehow, someone who uses the daycare, or works at the daycare, found out, read the blog, and now the daycare has terminated their contract with them.
    SO;
    2 things;
be mindful of what/who you blog about
    AND
be careful what you wish for
(she wanted a new daycare, now she has no choice but to find one)
Law of Attraction hard at work there.

    here's the pics:
